MKAA owned private Bradwell lake is a mature bordered by the River Ouse and the Grand Union Canal (both controlled by MKAA), it is approx 23 acres in size with approx 60 pegs,18 of these are suitable for wheelchair users with a number of these along “A” section allowing parking behind or close to the peg.

The lake was purchased and developed with help from the Sports Council Lottery Grant and over £150,000 has been spent on developing the site. There are two free car parks and cut grass foot paths encircling the lake, it is possible to drive around some of the lake when the ground is dry ( not all the way round), the bailiffs will close off the track when the fields get boggy.

The lake contains good size Tench, bream to 16lb and Carp caught to low 20’s but there are reports of larger unconfirmed specimens. It also contains Roach, Rudd, Perch, Pike with a very few catfish.

It has received a number of injections of stock fish over the years which have also include Crucians, the Crucians are however yet to show themselves with the latest stock of Carp and Tench going into the lake in April 2022.

The lake is situated on the flood plain of the River Ouse so it is prone to flooding when the river is high so please be aware if planning a visit.

Although not an easy lake it is popular with anglers who want to fish in a safe and peaceful surroundings with a chance of catching double figure Bream, Carp to 24lb, Tench to double figures, Pike to 20lb along with a selection of silvers.

The River Ouse can be accessed from the site and has produced perch to 3lb, Chub to 7lb along with some good bags of Roach and Dace. Where there are silvers there will also be pike and the lake and river is popular with the roaming lure angler or those wishing to fish dead baits in the winter.

The lake can be weedy during the summer months but anglers are welcome to rake swims to enable them to fish the margins.
