Wolverton Ouse

Wolverton Ouse

The Whitings and Wolverton Mill stretch consists of two miles of prime Upper Ouse fishing, with a series of pools, glides, deeps, and shallows. This fishery extends from the train viaduct up stream to and just beyond the Grand Union Canal iron truck. Just below the Iron trunk the river Tove joins the river Ouse. This is a great mixed fishery and has produced good nets of roach, dace, perch. For the lure angler there is a healthy population of pike. This stretch has produced chub to over 7lb and in a four-hour match one angler managed a haul of 78lb of large slab bream. Although rare these days barbel have been caught from this stretch. Beware of overhead cables.
