Caldecotte South Lake and Caldecotte North Lake now open all Year.
The two lakes cover an area of over 70 acres and over the years received multiple stockings of fish. The lake holds some first class specimen fish (although some like to keep it quiet). It has produced Tench to 11lb, Bream to mid doubles along with pike to 30lb. Huge Perch to near record proportions have been caught but are often measured rather than weighed so it is difficult to verify, there are also a number of roach bream hybrids that are known for their fighting qualities. Numerous roach and perch dwell in the lake with the MKAA roach record of 3lb being caught from the lake.
Large carp can sometimes be seen by those that spend time walking the lake but are reluctant to give themselves up, the lake has the potential to produce some real surprises. Caldecotte lake is certainly not an easy water and should really be considered a campaign venue for those seeking out the carp.
The lake has proved to be very popular with the roaming lure anglers and also the static predator anglers in the colder months.
The average lake depth is around 12ft and can drop off quickly in the margins, due to the fact that it is a large open water the fishing is often influenced by the wind direction and can fish better when the wind has consistently been blowing in the same direction for a number of days.
The lake is split into the north and south lake and is divided by H10 Bletcham Way, the North lake and South lake can be fished all year.
The lake is flanked by the R.Ouzel which can also offer some great fishing.
